Noreen, social worker, counsellor and clinical supervisor

Welcome,
I’m Noreen

Founder, Calm Waters Wellbeing Practice

Master of Social Work

Graduate Certificate in Developmental Trauma

Registered with the AASW

I am a social worker with over 15 years of experience, registered with the Australian Association of Social Workers. My career has spanned child protection services in both New Zealand and Australia, as well as family services, with a particular specialisation in family and domestic violence.

I hold a Master of Social Work and a Graduate Certificate in Developmental Trauma, which has deepened my capacity to work effectively with people who have experienced trauma. This trauma‑informed lens underpins everything I do.

Alongside my private practice, I currently support NDIS participants through Support Coordination and as a Psychosocial Recovery Coach. Building on this experience, I am now expanding into offering therapeutic supports through Calm Waters Wellbeing Practice, where I work as a counsellor and clinical supervisor.

I bring a grounded, trauma‑informed approach to my work, shaped by years spent supporting people and families through some of the most difficult periods of their lives.

My approach

Three things shape every session, whoever is sitting across from me.

Trauma‑informed

A safe, steady space where your nervous system can settle and your story can unfold at your pace.

Culturally grounded

I honour your cultural identity, lived experience, and community story with deep respect and understanding.

Person‑centred

Your goals, your pace, your voice. I walk alongside you, not ahead of you, supporting what matters most.

Kind words

Feeling truly heard and supported made all the difference in my healing journey.
